The breakfast project

The husband came home with a bag full of radishes... What to do with them?... Enter radish tartines... I remember seeing this in the menu of a Belgian restaurant, but did not order it... Well, this was the time to try them:

Radish Tartines:

1 French baguette, halved lengthwise and cut into thirds
6 tablespoons of {French}salted butter, softened - I cannot stress this enough... the French butter makes all the difference.
16 radishes, with some greens remaining, thinly sliced with a mandoline or sharp knife
Sea salt
Freshly ground pepper

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Toast bread slices, cut side down, on a baking pan until lightly crisp, about 8 minutes. Transfer pan to a wire rack and cool for about 1 minute. Spread 1 tablespoon butter onto each slice. Top with a single layer of radishes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

See one more thing I am making with radishes on this week menu.

  1. Mmmmm! My dad was in a cooking class once and learned to make radish soup! Delicious!

    1. Radish soup... Searching the internets to find a recipe... Awesome idea! Thanks for stopping by Caroline!
