Salsa verde

My kids request for their birthday meal... Arepas with salsa verde.

Hold on to your horses friends, what I'm about to share is a top secret recipe (not really) for delicious green sauce to be used on sandwiches or hamburgers but  it is commonly used in Venezuela on patacones (fried green plantains), empanadas (meat turnovers) and arepas with pernil (arepas and slow roasted pork). It is so delicious.

Ingredients (sorry, I don't cook using exact measurements, adjust the ingredients to your taste):

1/4 cup of mayonnaise
A hand full of chopped green onions
A hand full of cilantro leaves
2 cloves of garlic (more if you can handle it)
Couple of spoons of water
salt, pepper to taste

In a blender mix all the ingredients until fully incorporated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Are you food adventurous like us? If so, you love trying street foods anywhere you go. Venezuela has amazing street foods and you can find this green sauce in just about any food stand... So so good.

I hope you give this a try!
