Ring Road

Iceland's Ring Road is the main road that runs around the island and connects all habitable parts of the country.

For almost all its length, the road is two lanes wide with one lane in each direction. At times the road is connected by single lane bridges. The Ring Road can be isolated, you will not see towns or any other cars for miles...

Sometimes all you will see is lava fields covered in moss... Just the most surreal sight.
Other times you will encounter things like these (just off the road)
Or these

Or even these
Get the picture?

On our trip to Iceland we covered a little bit less than half of the Ring Road. One day, I would like to complete the whole circuit and discover how much more Iceland has to offer.
