Pictures for the weekend - Picnic in the park

OK, so I got some new shoes for our trip to France. You know, the type that will look oh so French (despite the fact that I already own a couple of great walking shoes). Well, we decided to pack up the family and go to Piedmont Park for a picnic and some walking (to break in the aforementioned shoes). To complement the purpose of the outing we brought a French inspired lunch of bread, 2 types of crackers, strawberry jam, 3 different types of French cheeses, pears, caramelized walnuts, ham, some fruit juice and for dessert, fruit tartlets. The kids played and rode their bikes, we sat down and enjoyed ourselves...Such a wonderful day here in the ATL. Here are some pictures from that day:
Some more playing around:

And a visit to the market going on at Piedmont Park:

  1. Cool, you even found a guy making crepes just before your trip to France! I like mine drizzled with Grand Marnier.:)

  2. looks like such a glorious time. love the water shots.

  3. @meguro:
The crepes were a bit disappointing - come to find out they were pre-made - they just warmed 'em up when they had an order. Sandgirl loved them though, so I told her she was definitely in for a treat when she gets the real thing in Paris :-)

And for the record, I'm a Nutella kind of guy myself.
